Advanced Dental Technology
Sacramento Dental Medicine fully utilizes state of the art dental technology and equipment, like digital x-rays and "The Wand."
CBCT - 3D Imaging
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (3D) images are quick and simple to perform. During the scan, the patient sits stationary on a designated seat. The cone beams are used to take hundreds of pictures of the face, creating different dimensions than what a traditional X-ray can provide. These images are then compiled into an exact 3D likeness of the inner mechanisms of the face and jaw. Dr. Narodovich is able to zoom in on specific areas and view them from alternate angles.
CBCT dental scans are an incredible tool that reduces treatment time and enhances the end results of dental surgery, including implant placement.
The Wand® STA® All-Injection System
The Wand STA All-Injection System allows your dentist to gently, precisely, and quickly administer all dental injections without the fear and anxiety of traditional syringes. Single tooth, palatal and infiltration injections are performed painlessly and without collateral numbness of the cheeks, lip and tongue, preserving natural smile lines and offering patients a more pleasant experience during and after procedures.
There are multiple reasons why we have given up the traditional dental syringe in favor of The Wand STA. This injection protocol is much more comfortable to patients with many not realizing that they have been given an injection. Patients are pleased to find out they are able to eat immediately following a procedure rather than being forced to wait for the anesthetics to wear off. In the case of children, there is no chance of lip or tongue trauma from biting after a STA injection for mandibular teeth due to the ability to avoid a mandibular block. The Wand STA is also more comfortable and much less intimidating for the developmentally disabled than the traditional syringe, which helps in the care and management of these patients. We have a modern sterilization system that surpasses OSHA requirements. The source of water for our dental units is distilled water (bottled water), which removes any chance of contamination from regular tap water like that used in most dental offices.
Oral Cancer Screenings
Oral cancer can be a serious and potentially life-threatening issue if not caught early. At Sacramento Dental Medicine, we offer oral cancer screenings to help detect any potential issues early on. Early detection is key to successful treatment, so don't hesitate to schedule an appointment for a screening. For more information visit velscope.com.
Soft Tissue laser
This cutting edge science allows dentists allow treatment of a highly specific area without damaging surrounding tissues. This can allow for procedures that have a faster healing time, fewer (if any) stitches, no anesthesia, minimal bleeding, and fewer infections versus the traditional dental practices. The future is here! Not only are digital X-rays more cost effective than traditional film X-rays, but they also have an array of benefits.
