Meet Dr. Lucas L. Sheppard
Dr. Sheppard grew up in Gilbert, Arizona where he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a B.S. degree in Accounting. After working as a tax accountant for a few years, he decided to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Sheppard was awarded the Health Professions Scholarship through the United States Air Force and went on to receive a degree in dentistry at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, AZ.
After graduating dental school, his USAF professional career began. He expanded his clinical abilities with an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. That was followed by five years working as a General Dentist at Hurlburt Field in Fort Walton Beach, FL. He then specialized in Endodontics at UT Health Science Center San Antonio and the United States Air Force Post-Graduate Dental School where he learned from world-renowned professors and honed his skills in evaluating, diagnosing and treating patients with endodontic disease.
Dr. Sheppard was stationed at Travis Air Force Base where he split his time between treating patients and teaching in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry as an Assistant Professor for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. His varied clinical and teaching experiences have taught him the importance of empathetic listening and clear communication.
When not at work, Dr. Sheppard spends his free time with his wife and their four daughters. He enjoys cheering on his daughters at their competitions and performances, volunteering at his church, running, hiking and exploring the beautiful Northern California countryside.
